Teacher of the Month Recognition Program

The Early Learning Coalition of Orange County has more than 3500 early learning teachers making a difference in more than 30,000 children’s lives each year. CEO Dr. Scott Fritz found a creative way to recognize those who stand out. Dr. Fritz started the Teacher of the Month program in October, 2022. Dr. Fritz and staff from the ELCOC surprise a teacher in their classroom every month, and sometimes as many as 4 a month! The teachers receive a certificate and a gift (donated by partners) during these surprise visits. In June, the ELCOC organizes a special Teacher of the Year breakfast and each of the Teachers of the Month are invited for a morning celebration with trophies, gifts, and more. At this event one of the teachers from that year is named Teacher of the Year!
