Hundreds of Families Attend “Slide into Summer” Family Event

Orlando, FL – The Early Learning Coalition of Orange County (ELCOC) is thrilled to announce another wonderfully attended Slide into Summer event. More than 300 families joined the ELCOC for a day aimed at promoting family engagement and literacy. The event took place on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center.

Families enjoyed an assortment of activity stations tailored to engage young minds, and interactive games to encourage learning through play. In addition, various community resources were available on-site, offering valuable information and support to families seeking to enhance their children’s educational journey.

“Slide into Summer” is a fun-filled gathering designed to emphasize the importance of family engagement while providing an opportunity for families to celebrate the joy of learning together. The event is also a kickoff to summer learning at home. This year, families walked away with an array of games and educational resources.

Dr. Scott Fritz, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County, said, “We are so pleased with the turnout. This was a great opportunity to share information with the community about the importance of family engagement. Summer is a wonderful time for families to share fun activities and incorporate learning for their kids.”

Together, we can foster a love for learning, strengthen family bonds, and create lifelong memories.
